I'll overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's boxing match.

Former twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Disparity

As both boxers met for the traditional stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is really proceeding.
